



This project was created in response to a brief set by Design Bridge for "The Start' 2023 competition. The brief I was given was 'How would Nespresso tackle mental health with the elderly as the target audience?'
After some research, I was able to determine that one of the leading issues plaguing the older generation in the UK is loneliness. 1 in 5 older adults feel lonely regularly in the UK, Seeing these statistics, I knew I had to tackle this issue while creating an on brand response for Nespresso.
The solution that I came up with is a collaboration between Nespresso's exceptional coffee and Age UK's mission to tackle loneliness amongst the elderly in the country.
I created a limited-edition espresso pod collection called Friendship Brew which has been designed to encourage the elderly customers to forge new friendships. Each box of pods includes special cards for them to share their story, spark conversations and connect with their community.
They can slip these cards in their neighbour's post box or hand them out to people.
The colours and type size on the packaging have been chosen with impaired eyesight in mind.
